Abstract. Reviews the book 'Fishes, Crayfishes, and Crabs: Louis Renard's 'Natural History of the Rarest Curiosities of the Seas of the Indies',' edited by Theodore W. PietschAuthor: J.F.M. Clark. Back to Nature Guide to Nano Aquaria - Kjell Fohrman, Jose Kienjet, Ralph Toning. This book gives many examples of beautiful freshwater nano aquaria and also provides useful information on how to set up and maintain a nano tank. It also covers the fishes, shrimps, crayfishes, crabs, snails and plants that can be kept in such a small aquarium.

But the illustrations are for the most part so beautifully and accurately drawn that there is generally no trouble identifying the species discussed. The quality of this work is especially evident when compared against the only other major publication of this type that predates it, Samuel Fallours’ “Fishes, Crayfishes and Crabs ” from Description: In this Special, we introduce the 64 most interesting shrimps, crabs and crayfishes that can be kept in freshwater tanks. Like in ornamental fishes, there are small and large species, and species that can be kept in community tanks with fish. We tell you, which ones are suitable and which are not, on 48 pages with many illustrations.

It also covers the fishes, shrimps, crayfishes, crabs, snails, and plants that can be kept in such a small aquarium. This book contains approximately excellent colour photos (by 41 photographers from nine countries) and species descriptions with information on and photos of more than 75 crustaceans (shrimps, crayfishes, crabs) and snails.
